Yannick Belzil, one of the hosts of the immensely popular French-language podcast “3 Bières” joins this immensely popular English podcast to talk about the build towards episode 350 of his show and the live shows he’s been doing across the province. While that is all true, we also get really, really weird in this one, including a pitch for probably the grossest podcast you will hopefully never hear, eating pennies and what kind of people form boy bands. We promised back on Episode 150 that we’d do a full episode with Yannick and now here we are. Look at us, keeping promises.

Go Plug Yourself New Year’s Shit Show 2014

Keith Waterfield, Leighland Beckman, Tarzan from BCASA, Stephen Trepanier, Lucie Lederhendler and Phil! Today is the first day of 2015 so we got a bunch of people into one room to look back at an entire year of Go Plug Yourself! I am hoping this mess becomes a tradition. It’s good times people. Those faces that are all washed out are Stephen Trepanier and Phil Donald, victims of a photo filter. This one is a bit of a mess but I think that fans of the show will enjoy the raw, hilarious antics because come on, raw hilarious antics are what got us through the first 75 episodes of this train that’s been more or less off the rails since the get go. Go Plug Yourself 69: Amy Blackmore

So Walter and Amy Blackmore have a rather tricky history. If you’ve attended any of the Night Fight’s (or subsequent Brunch Fights) you know that for some reason, Walter is under the belief that Amy Blackmore is trying to “keep him down”. I’m not entirely sure where he got that idea from, but in effort to try to smooth out relations between himself and Amy he managed to convince her to sit down and talk with us for an hour. Amy was a great host, letting us into her office at the back (middle?) of Mainline Theater on the Main. Amy talks about romance, dance and upcoming shows at the Mainline. My Name is Walter. Fuck.

I am a third generation Walter. I personally have no problem with the name. A little old fashioned, perhaps, but it sure beats the shit out of Nevaeh. Should I ever have a man-child of my own, I will not hesitate in introducing a fourth gen Walter to this world. If his mother’s against it, she can call him whatever the hell she likes around the house, as long as it’s not Nevaeh or “late for dinner.” Nobody, after all, wants to be called late for dinner. See what I did there?

Walter, however, is a name which finds itself pretty much cursed in the realms of pop culture – particularly movies. As far back as I can remember (admittedly, that’s only about two or three months, tops) I’ve noticed that any character named Walter is a bad dude. Falling under the “bad dude” category are the following: creep, perv, psycho, criminal, dick, etc.

Let’s look at some examples, shall we?

Remember that jagoff in Ghost Busters from the Environmental protection Agency who tries to shut the boys down? His name was Walter Peck. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
