Go Plug Yourself Rewind: Michael Mando (2013)

It’s crazy to me that Michael Mando has been on our show 3 times.

But the first time was way way back in 2013, fresh off of his performance as Vaas in Far Cry 3. Far Cry 6 came out last year and Vaas actually made an appearance in some DLC that came out so you know, full circle or something.

Anyhow, there’s no new episode this week since people got sick and busy with the holidays, but this goes down as one of my favorite episodes ever so take a trip down memory lane with me, wont you?

Even if you’ve heard this episode before you should do yourself a favor and head to the 5 Questions segment at the end of the show, Michael’s story about getting mixed up with the cops is legendary Go Plug Yourself material right there. And this was before he was in Better Call Saul!

Michael Mando Returns – GPYS 206

The Montreal podcast that brings Montrealer Michael Mando right into your ears even though we’re all in self-isolation.

Michael (once again) puts us all to shame with his drive and motivation as he has spent his time in isolation literally learning how to use sound editing software to put his music together. Mind you, he also has some inspiring words for us all. Check out Michael Mando’s debut single “The Wild One” on YouTube and tune in to the season finale of Better Call Saul this Monday (April 20th) on AMC. And if you haven’t watched it yet there’s basically no better time to binge, what else you got going on?

Go Plug Yourself 77: Michael Mando Returns!

So once upon a time (aka almost exactly 2 years ago) we had a very special guest named Michael Mando. Back then he was most famous for his portrayal of Vaas in Far Cry 3. However, he’s had an extremely busy 2 years. He’s been on television shows like Rookie Blue and Orphan Black and now has landed the role of Nacho Varga on AMC’s upcoming Better Call Saul (premiering Sunday February 8th on AMC and shortly afterwards on Netflix). Over the holidays Michael (a native Montrealer) was in town and was awesome enough to come back to Go Plug Yourself to talk about what he’s been up to, filming in New Mexico and working with the rest of the cast. Go Plug Yourself 27: Michael Mando

You know that game Far Cry 3? Yeah, the one that everyone is super into and is getting amazing reviews and whatnot? You know the bad guy that did the ultra memorable “Definition of Insanity” monologue, Vaas? The same Vaas that people are saying is one of the most memorable villains in recent gaming? Not to mention that he’s on the cover of the game. Yeah, that’s Michael Mando and he was kind enough to sit down with us to talk about Far Cry 3, the process of becoming Vaas (both as a performer and from the more technical side of things), his upcoming projects and a messy run in with the law during the 5 Questions segment.
