The Montreal podcast that asks legendary Montreal Gazette columnist Pat Hickey: “What is the most memorable commercial you’ve ever seen?” That question asked by the one and only Josh Clarke back in episode 270.

To say that Pat Hickey has had a tremendous career would be an understatement. If you listen carefully to this podcast you might hear my mind explode several times.

Pat Hickey buying a bottle of champagne at Studio 54 after a Yankees game? Mind blown.

Pat Hickey covering Jean Beliveau’s 500th career goal? Mind blown.

The list goes on and on.

If you haven’t heard, Pat Hickey recently announced that he would be retiring voluntarily amidst some cuts at the Montreal Gazette so that some younger writers might hang on to their jobs. Class act through and through.

Chris Venditto steps up as c0-host as this one and is also the man who made this interview happen. Big thanks to Chris for making this happen and of course to Mr. Hickey himself who I’m sure has hours and hours of stories to tell (perhaps in a book that may or may not be written during his upcoming retirement).

Enjoy the show!

Pat Hickey – pictured here with Montreal Canadiens coach Martin St. Louis – fun fact, by my estimate St. Louis may be the 24th coach that Pat has covered behind the bench of the team. Give or take.
