So a funny thing happened this year during festival season: I went to Taiwan and got engaged to Sarah. So in light of that we had Jono sub in with Walter for the Just for Laughs episodes. Then, a series of unfortunate events led to us very nearly losing all of the audio that was recorded. But now, thanks to the magic of computers and me being back in Canada the episodes have been recovered! Glory day! In celebration of my engagement to Sarah and funny people everywhere we will be releasing the 4 minisodes that we salvaged over the course of the week! We kick this bitch off with a bang with a double feature of two of the funniest of the Canadian funnymen: Kenny Hotz and Ron Sparks!gpysJFL20151

Go Plug Yourself JFL Special: Steve Patterson, Dave Merheje, Patrick Cassels and Kenny Hotz

Oh man, I can’t even begin to do justice to how special this episode is. The sheer volume of specialness is a crushing weight upon my person. Walter and I did some run and gun podcasting at the Hyatt bar last week for the 30th Anniversary of Just for Laughs. The result? A two part podcast special devoted to some of the great talents at the festival. Tune in to part one (this episode) to hear Steve Patterson from CBC Radio’s The Debaters, Just for Laughs 2011 Home Grown winner Dave Merheje, College Humor’s Patrick Cassels and finally Kenny Hotz (from Kenny vs Spenny and Triumph of the Will). This is just the first part! Next week we’ll have part 2 with DeAnne Smith, Paul F. Tompkins and none other than Mick Foley! Tell your friends.

Fuck Mondays Volume 1: Just For Laughs

So this past weekend, Jorn and I bought Just For Laughs ComicPro passes. For those of you unfamiliar with the pass: fuck you. Seriously though, it’s great. The idea is that you get to go to a few selected shows at night, and during the day you can attend various panels hosted by some of the top names in comedy or something.

Basically, for 100 bucks I got to see Picnicface and Smodcast record live. It was fun, well worth the money and I would honestly recommend it to anybody who wants to be funny ever.

Oh yeah, Ken Motherfucking Jeong as well.

But that’s not the story of this edition of Fuck Mondays, this is.
