The Montreal podcast that asks Jim & Austin Beauchamp (of Cunninghams Pub): “If you could be one existing soda, what would you be?” (asked of by the incomparable James McGee).
Jim Beauchamp runs a little place you might know for good food and good fun: Cunninghams Pub in Ste-Anne-De-Bellevue. Jim and his son Austin join Chris and I to talk about the realities of running a restaurant in the midst of a pandemic and how they have managed to adapt to the craziness of the last 6 months (and the possible craziness of the next 6 months as well).
From broadening their delivery services, to making sure customers were safe when they were allowed to be open, halfway to St-Patrick’s day celebrations and bottling hotsauce Jim and company have been doing their best to stay connected to their loyal customers. They also talk about the part they played in raising over $40,000 for charity as part of the “I Ride for Cody” campaign.
If you’re worried about local establishments like Cunninghams do yourself a favour and support the establishments you want to have around when this is all over with. Local businesses need a lot of support of they’re going to make it out of all of this so the next time you’re ordering in maybe pick a family run business over a chain. Just sayin’.
Enjoy the show!
