First of all, hats off to the good people (ok, I have no idea if they’re good people, let’s be fair, they make their living selling us stuff we really don’t need) of Loot Crate for getting me, a lowly Canadian, my December Loot Crate before the 25th. Yesterday morning I heard a knock on my door so I ran to put some pants on and get the door. The nice postman gave me (as promised) the biggest black box yet. I was pretty excited.  For December, Loot Crate was themed for ANNIVERSARY. More than any other Crate I sort of had an idea what sort of stuff was going to be in here. The teaser email stated that this Crate was going to celebrate some of the great stuff that was celebrating an important year in 2014. So that narrowed it down. Ghostbusters, Marvel, Batman, Simpsons, Tetris… yeah, pretty good idea of the theme. So, let’s see what ended up being packed into this great big box.OpenDecYeah! *Karate chops the air.*

Ok, before I start to decide how much I love all of this stuff I do want to say that I am a touch disappointed that there’s no t-shirt. The t-shirt has been a huge highlight in the October and November crates. I mean, I guess if I kept my subscription for a whole year I don’t really need 12 new t-shirts all the time, but still, feh. Let’s go item-by-item and see what we got.GhostbustersDecGhostbusters Door Thing

Ok, this is pretty great. If only for the fact that it has what is easily the best quote from the Ghostbusters films “Are you the Keymaster?” I have tried on numerous occasions to use this line as an opener on a date. I recommend that you should too. It’s never worked, but boy, when it does, you’ve found the one. I suppose the fact that Sarah saw it and said “That’s awesome” is as close as I will get. Also bonus points for any sort of a representation of Stay Puft since Stay Puft is the man. I would have been super into this in highschool (except for the fact that I didn’t really have a door to put it on since the entire basement was my room). As an adult, it shall hang on my bathroom door until I get bored of it.

GrootGroot Socks

If it wasn’t the holidays I would be keeping these socks for myself. However, socks are kind of the quintessential holiday present which means I won’t be able to resist giving them to someone at Keithmas.  Featuring Baby Groot, who as we all know is the best Groot. A slight complaint is the big red “Marvel” logo printed right into the sock. We get it. It’s official merch. Is that really necessary though? Kinda ruins a cool sock that otherwise kind of has a “home made” vibe to it.

So this is the second comic that Loot Crate has bundled into their box. Last time it worked out since I was actually a reader of The Walking Dead. This month I was like “oh, ok, a random Batman comic.” However, according to the cover it comes with a digital download of 3 extra issues, hopefully providing some context for the physical issue that came in the Crate. As I mentioned last time, I read most of my comics digitally nowadays, so it’s neat to get a physical comic to thumb through everyone once in a while. Can’t go wrong with Batman. Widening Gyre notwithstanding.

Random Stuff

The little Loot Crate ‘zine, a Captain America air freshener and a month trial of Crunchyroll. The air freshener is vanilla, which is my favorite scent. I don’t watch much anime, but I will try and find a way to give away the trial to someone who does.

Tetris Stickers (and Loot Crate Pin)

The pin should’ve probably been in the random stuff picture but I forgot. These stickers are pretty cool They’re raised and seem really sturdy. I’m pretty sure that they will stay very stuck to whatever you stick them too. This are definitely going to be gifted to someone, but if they weren’t I can definitely see myself sticking some kind of a Tetris pattern to my computer or something. I played the crap out of Tetris on the Gameboy. If you count all those hours of my youth playing Tetris it may crack the top ten in terms of time spent playing a single title.

A Candy Cane (Sarah Ate It)

Sarah informed me that it was one of the “freshest” candy canes she’s ever had. It was classic mint too. Don’t fuck around Loot Crate with fancy flavours. Stick to the classics.
Happiness: ♥ (Since Sarah ate it)

Simpsons Mighty Wallet

I’ve always been intrigued by the Mighty Wallet. How does a little paper wallet end up being invincible? I was actually going to keep this for myself since it’s badass. Covered in Simpsons characters of all levels of obscurity and supposedly indestructible! However, Sarah asked if she could give it to someone in particular as a present. Hey, spread the love people.

BatmanDecThe Joker Batman-Batman

I have no idea how this would ever happen in the world of comics and would probably rage against whatever comic tried to shoehorn this costume into it, but in the world of adorable vinyl toys I am 100% ok with it. The little Loot Crate zine says that it’s Batman cosplaying as Joker but I am pretty sure it would make a lot more sense as Joker cosplaying as Batman. I guess I’m splitting hairs.

I’m hanging onto this one, not just because it might become a zillion dollars on ebay but because he can hang out with this little guy:BestBudsI take it back, I would read this comic.

That’s it for the December crate. I hope everyone else gets theirs today or tomorrow too. Enjoy the holidays y’all.
