You know what was weird?

That time where I got a Loot Crate (February’s BUILD Crate) and totally forgot to take pictures of it and talk about it. I literally forgot I even received it until I got this month’s box and was like “oh yeaaahhh” about the BUILD crate. I mean, in a way that’s kind of a review of it in its own way, isn’t it?Loot1

Anyhow, onward to this months March PRIMAL Crate!

Review of January 2017 “Origins” Loot Crate – Look At All My Sh*t

Disclaimer: I totally had this written and ready to go yesterday as a Tuesday post. However, without internet I couldn’t risk tethering my phone for all the photo uploads due to data consumption (especially since I’ll be doing just that tonight for tomorrow’s podcast). Sorry friends.

Hey! I’m back! I mean, I never really left, I was still blabbering away on Go Plug Yourself and 9ES but my writing ground down to an absolute halt over the course of the last month or so as I sorted out moving from my apartment into the condo that Sarah and I just bought. I’ll spare you the details of everything involved and everything that went wrong, but now the “shit to do” list has dwindled down to a manageable 4 or 5 things.LootJan1

In all the hubbub I managed to not only stop blogging, I entirely forgot to to talk about December’s “REVOLUTION” crate (it was pretty great in my opinion). I also basically forgot that I was even subscribed to Loot Crate (and the box got sent to my old address). But hey, I finally got my hands on January’s “ORIGINS” crate so now I’m going to review it! Look At All My Sh*t – November Loot Crate “MAGICAL”

Man, I’ve got so much to do lately I nearly forgot about this. Not just writing my thoughts on this month’s Loot Crate, I damn near forgot I even got a Loot Crate. I opened it up, was like “cool” then put it all back in the box and promptly forgot about it. But we’re here, it’s still Tuesday, I’m writing this as I edit this week’s Go Plug Yourself and after that I will take pictures of the stuff that I’m talking about.LootMagic1 This month’s them is MAGICAL or something. Maybe it’s “MAGIKAL” since the old magic is spelt with a K. It makes a lot of sense as a theme since we’ve got Dr. Strange and a new entry into the Potterverse all over our November. All over it. This month is another “less of more” Loot Crate which I don’t have a problem with. I mean, except for the t-shirt a month thing but we ge go over that every month. Look At All My Sh*t – October “Horror” Loot Crate

If you are any kind of fan of this here little website, you know that I’m a pretty massive fan of all kinds of horror films. From the television I watch to the movies I go see, there’s a special place in my heart for things that try to scare me. My first ever Loot Crate was FEAR way back from 2014, and after missing out on a “Halloween” style crate last year (not to diminish the absolutely amazing “TIME” create of October 2015) we’re back with a horror themed crate once again.

No beating around the bush with the theme either, some particular creative individual at Loot Crate was probably like “What can we call the theme? Scream? Fright? Chills? Nah, screw it, Horror. It is the Horror Crate.” Everyone got to go lunch early that day I bet.Horror1

Going in I had a pretty solid idea of what was in store. We’ve got a new season of Walking Dead that just started this weekend, and the promise of classic horror icons meant Michael Myers, Freddy, Jason and Leatherface were all going to get their due as well.

Look At All My Sh*t – Loot Crate SPEED

So this was kind of fun. And by fun I mean “I almost missed this month’s Loot Crate”.

It seems Loot Crate has switched over at least temporarily to UPS instead of the Canada Post. This might be temporary given the ongoing woes of the Canadian Postal service and their continual threat to strike. Who knows! Anyways, I live in a big enough building that UPS delivery notices seem to just disappear. I wasn’t expecting Loot Crate to get to my house until some time passed the 25th, as usual.

Come the 28th, with no delivery notice to speak of, I took a look at the tracking information from the Loot Crate email. It had been delivered early! Very early in fact. UPS had been holding it since the 19th or something. Actually, they were going to send it back to Loot Crate as of the 27th, which, at this point in the story was yesterday. I called in a panic, got them to hold it and raced to the UPS store after work to get it before they returned it.

At the end of the day, I got Loot Crate.

Wasn’t that a fun story?LootBox

Look At All My Sh*t – August 2016 Loot Crate “AntiHero”

Yes, I’m mostly going to be writing about whether or not I’m writing (ha! redundant!) but as I mentioned, I’ll still be keeping my regular monthly reviews of those delightful boxes of joy: Loot Crates.

This month’s them was “ANTI-HERO” so I was ready to take a trip down the strange days of 90s comic books where everyone was a badass and kids thought Lobo was cool. Remember Lobo? He was basically Wolverine in DC but was in space and rode a space motorcycle. Lobo! Nope, what that actually means is that we’ll have items from Suicide Squad (if by Suicide Squad you mean Harley Quinn), Kill Bill, Archer, World of Warcraft and Hellboy.LootAnti1

Note: One of the reasons I enjoy doing these things so much is that I get to play around with my DSLR camera, in this month’s edition I was focusing on flash photography, so everything kind of came out a lot darker than I expected. So I just got back from a 3600 km road trip on Sunday, I had no idea what I was going to write about or when I was going to find the time to write it.

Look At All My Sh*t – May Loot Crate POWER

This one is down to the wire y’all. I gotta admit that I’ve been getting my Loot Crates later and later lately, but this is cutting close. We’re May 31st and I got my May POWER Crate yesterday. But hey, it’s still May, it’s still Tuesday, and this blog needs blogging.Loot1

My general impressions of this month were pretty favorable, but by golly was this a geeky box. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, I’m geeky as hell. But if I questioning myself about exactly how nerdy getting a box of nerd stuff every month was, this would be a loud and clear “hella nerdy.”

Look At All My Sh*t – April Loot Crate “QUEST”

This month’s theme was “QUEST” which seems like a slightly broader version of last year’s “FANTASY” Crate, and honestly, with a very small exception it just as easily could’ve been FANTASY 2.
