Nick Farkas Talks Osheaga (Go Plug Yourself)
Nick Farkas joins Sarah and I to talk all about the 2022 edition of the Osheaga Arts & Music Festival.
So, Sarah and I have been doing our Osheaga podcast series for a few years now and like to think of ourselves as “vets” of the Osheaga festival. Imagine our surprise when we found out that Nick Farkas, the founder of Osheaga, was interested in coming on the show to talk to us about the festival we both love so much.
Nick gets into the depths of booking the festival. From where artists land on the poster (and the drama it can cause) to the importance of making sure artists have really good food backstage. We talk about some favorite performances from the past, and reveal some of our “can’t miss” acts of this year’s festival (and it’s not even clickbait to say that some of Nick’s picks might genuinely surprise you). Sarah and I both think Osheaga is a really special part of a Montreal summer and it was fun to talk with one of the key figures who makes it all possible each year.
At the end of the episode I say that I could easily talk for hours about music with someone like Nick and I mean it, the man plays a big part of keeping Montreal a great music city.
