Oh snap there’s another music festival left this summer! Palomosa makes its debut in 2024 as an official sendoff to the summer!

Palomosa is next week!

So, just like we did for Osheaga Sarah and I are introducing the first ever edition of our Unofficial Palomosa Podcast.

Sarah and I will be dug into the entire lineup of the inaugural Palomosa to give you music recommendations across both days of the festival. We’ve picked 5 acts from Palomosa and will be talking about them and playing clips of their songs to give you a feel for their music and why we think they’ll be an amazing show.

But wait – you don’t need us to tell you why you should probably check out Gesaffelstein and Kali Uchis now do you? So (for the purposes of this show) we ruled out the headliner of each day of the lineup. If you’re into electronica trust us, this lineup is pretty damned stacked, you’ll wanna get there early.

Osheaga Podcast 2024 (Unofficial) – Comedown Edition

That’s a wrap on Osheaga 2024. It’s over. 🙁

We can all go back to our lives now and try to cling to the memories of Osheaga as they fade away like dimming stage lights. Sarah and I took in an absurd amount of bands this year and managed to drag our tired asses over to the Ed Banger 20th Anniversary Party on Saturday night like complete lunatics (watching a back-to-back set of Busy P and Tiga took my right back to my 20s).

Osheaga flew by this year – probably because there was barely a minute between acts we wanted to catch. It was like we got into the gate on Friday afternoon and a long blink later we were cheering for the closing moments of Justice. We saw so many bands and now is the time where we run through the schedule and share our takes with you. Who was awesome? Who sucked? Who are we excited to see next time they come to town? Listen now!

Anyways, this is it until next year family. At least for Osheaga. There’s still plenty of concerts that you can and should be going to all year long between now and then.

Osheaga 2025 takes place August 1st to August 3rd next year and we’ll see you all there!

We’ve been picking ten acts from each day, talking about them and playing clips of their songs to give you a feel for their music and why we think they’ll be an amazing show.

But wait – you don’t need us to tell you why you should probably check out Green Day now do you? So (for the purposes of this show) we ruled out the entire top line of each day of the lineup. So yes, that means you will need to decide for yourself if you’re going to see the likes of SZA or not. Trust us, if you listen to all of these episodes you might find yourself running back and forth between stages all weekend and discovering your new favourite artist.

Our Unofficial Osheaga Podcast is back for 2024! It’s time that we talk to… wait, let me get this straight… we’re talking to evenko?

That’s right! Daniel Glick and Evelyne Côté from evenko were kind enough to join Sarah and I at the back of Grumpy’s Bar on Bishop Street to talk about this year’s edition of Oseheaga. Daniel Glick and Evelyne Côté have both been working for evenko for a long, long time so we talk about the earliest editions of Osheaga, ÎleSoniq (which is Evelyne’s baby) and so much more. Both Evelyne and Daniel have been a part of so much music history here in Montreal that it was truly a privilege to sit down and have a few beers with them to talk about all things Osheaga. Evelyne and Daniel share some of their favorite concerts from the past and share a few “can’t miss” acts from Osheaga 2024.

(Unofficial) Osheaga Podcast 2023: The Comedown

And just like that… it’s over.

Osheaga hit a record attendance of over 155,000 over this past weekend. I’ll be the first to admit that Friday started off a little rough as everyone (organizers and fans alike) adjusted to the new layout but then from there on it was pretty damn smooth. We’ve got so much to say about this year’s edition that this might be the longest “Comedown” episode we’ve ever done.

We saw a LOT of bands you guys. We talk about the shows we saw, the friends we made and then do a little speculative fan booking for who might be popping up at next year’s Osheaga. Mark your calendars for August 2nd to 4th in 2024 folks, because at this point you already know it’s going to be lit. Actually, you can buy your tickets right now if you’re adventurous.
