Seriously, I talked about this yesterday and it has been attempted in the past but this year it’s even better since both #22 AND #23 aren’t available. If Mike gets called up, this really should happen. It would be amazing.
Mike Commdore was invited to the Montreal Canadiens training camp and has been playing for the Hamilton Bulldogs since November. If he makes the roster, or is called up during the season, his usual #23 won’t be available (as it is retired as Bob Gainey’s number). Even his usual alternate number #22 won’t be available as it is currently worn by Tomas Kaberle. It would be an awesome and fun gesture if Mike Commodore were to finally wear #64, making him Commodore 64.
If anything, we should do this just to put Detroit to shame for not getting the job done.
