Look At All My Sh*t – July Loot Crate “FUTURISTIC”
Well, it’s that time of the month again. I nearly forgot about writing this, even though I spent part of yesterday taking my delightful pictures. I actually enjoy the whole “taking pictures” part of these Loot Crate reviews a lot. I should take a photography class.
This month’s theme is “FUTURISTIC”! What does that mean? Star Trek! Rick & Morty! Futurama! Among others!
Let’s take a look at this month’s loot.
Mega Man Vinyl Guy
Now, this is a little embarassing. I’ve already got a little Mega Man guy from this line of figures. Look? They’re the very same! I mean, they’re different colours, and if I’m not mistaken (and I’ve played all 10 Mega Man games and most of the X series) this would be the “Red” Mega Man that can summon different types of Rush robots. I’m not going to look this up. Maybe he’s Cut Man? Look, there’s a lot of Robot Masters out there guys, this could be a lot of ones, but I’m sticking with the Rush thing.
Oh, I love Mega Man, this fig is awesome. Sadly though, since I’ve got the original “Blue Bomber” colours already, this is destined to be re-gifted. Possibly to the person who got me the original.

Rick & Morty Portal Gun T-Shirt
If you’ve read through the previous 21 iterations of this column, you know that subtle geek t-shirts are my jam. Not that I don’t take pride in being a geek, but I like something with a little more style than just a walking billboard for the thing that I’m into. Rick & Morty is also my jam. I’m not fully up to date, but I’ve seen most of the first season and I’ve been a big fan of just about everything Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have done since way back in the Channel 101 days. Don’t know what Channel 101 is? Well let me tell you Morty, back in the old days, there was no YouTube. People would have to actually look for online videos and this group of guys made 5 minute videos that they screened in an actual theater and then later put the videos up online. *burrrrrp* I tell ya, you kids don’t know how easy you’ve got it now with your Tubes of yourselves. It’s a goddamn shame, Morty. Morty, it’s a shame. Goddamnit it Morty. A shame.

4001 AD Comic Book
I have no idea what this comic is about! I’ve read about the first half of it so far and there’s a lot going on. It’s the future and Japan is now a satellite in orbit of the Earth and some artificial intelligence is fighting a virus but jettisoning entire chunks of the country back down to the Earth’s surface.
Yeah, I have the feeling this is like “Series 2” of some Valiant series. I’m not going to look it up either though, because if I didn’t look up Mega Man I’m sure as heck not looking up this comic. The art is pretty dope though.

Enterprise Sticker Plaque Thingie
Ok Loot Crate. This makes a lot more sense than the metal Terminator face thing. At least this little thing comes with actual adhesive that you can use to stick it to things. I mean, I guess you could like put it on your laptop or something? Pretend your laptop is USS Enterprise? But, like, not the USS Enterprise since the plaque actually has the names of all the show’s (TNG specifically) creators. Except they’ve got Starfleet ranks. So it’s like “Admiral Gene Roddenberry”.
I like what you’re trying to do here, I just think it needs a little work. A for Effort.

Live Long And Prosper Pin
It’s becoming a monthly occurrence that I swoon over the pin. This month is no different. What I like a lot about this pin is that it’s definitely something that just about any Trek fan would really enjoy if I gave them this as a gift. It’s got a quality look to it and is basically representative of the most quotable sentiment in science fiction history.
It also apparently unlocks like $50 of premium content in that free-to-play Star Trek game that’s around. That’s cool too.

Futurama Planet Express Miniature
When I showed this to Scott he was like “with very few exceptions, this is basically the thing you want the most as Futurama swag.” And I can’t really disagree with him. It’s a nice change of pace from the standard figurine and it’s also iconic enough that anyone who likes the show could eyeball it from across the room and be all like “Dayyyum, that’s the Planet Express ship dayyyyumm..” because that’s what people do when they see that you’ve got cool miniatures. They go “daayyyumm”.
This is my favorite item of the month. Which is hard to believe since there was a cool Rick & Morty t-shirt.

Overall, I enjoyed this crate a lot. I’m still not a fan of the monthly t-shirt. Which is something I will say every month until they change it. But I liked just about everything in here to a certain extent.
You know what they should do? Make the t-shirt like a $10 add on or something. You could choose the upgrade on a month-to-month basis depending on whether or not you dug the theme. I dunno. Books. What I’m saying is that it’s been 8 months and there hasn’t been a book yet this year.
Next month’s theme (just in time for Suicide Squad) is “ANTIHERO”.
See you then!
