Go Fringe Yourself: Empty Rooms

It’s easy to get caught up in how zany and goofy a lot of Fringe shows can be, Katherine Turnbull and Michael Lortie (along with director Alarey Alsip) are promising some heavy hitting emotions along with their laughs. Empty Rooms tells the stories of estranged twins reunited at their mother’s funeral, and if that setup doesn’t tug at your heart strings, you’re a monster.

AudioBuzz: It’s Rabbit Night!

I fucked this one up pretty bad guys. Not once, not twice, but a number of times that I am not actually willing to count I refer to this show as “It’s Rabbit Time”. I do so again and again. AudioBuzz: The Orchid and the Crow

So, this one got a little heavy. You can sort of tell by how Sarah doesn’t really know how to feel after seeing “The Orchid and the Crow” that things get a little serious in what is mostly a comedy show with singing and dancing. We talked with James McGee last week about his show and despite his best efforts, he managed to convince at least one of us to check it (this isn’t a knock on James, he’s just a really self-deprecating type). The one man show with several different characters who are quirky and weird and you probably don’t really want to talk to… Look At This Guy. Guess what, it was pleasant.

AudioBuzz: is this pretentious?

So Holly Greco told us her show wasn’t pretentious but it was about pretentious people? Is that pretentious? Guys, this is so meta you’ve got no idea. All I know is that the show was actually pretty funny, which, to my understanding, means it wasn’t pretentious? Maybe? Question marks.
