Look At All My Sh*t – March VERSUS Loot Crate
We’re back once again with another Loot Crate unboxing blog, which is always a treat for me since a) they more or less write themselves and b) I get cool stuff.
Last month I was a (little) disappointed in the lack of diversity in the DEAD themed crate (in that it was just Deadpool and Walking Dead stuff) and was a little worried the same thing would repeat this month with VERSUS. However, this was happily not the case! Let’s see what we got going on here. This Loot Crate happily celebrates a number of grudge matches and doesn’t just focus on one or two intellectual properties.
Alien vs. Predator 4.5-Inch Vinyl Figure
You could either get the Xenomorph or the Predator apparantly, seeing as we just got Alien related swag back in January (facehugger plush!) I was pretty pumped to pull the Predator. I’ve always felt that Predator has never really gotten the respect it deserves, it has one really fun movie and one so-so movie. Then it has the Alien vs. Predator movies that kind of play out like silly fan service. So I will proudly display this little guy as a symbol of how he deserves better. I also like the 4.5 inch height, it’s a little taller than the standard Dunny/FunkoPop figs, which is cool.

Quantum Mechanix Mirror, Mirror Star Trek T-Shirt
I’m not the biggest Star Trek fan, but for a variety of reasons I still really like this t-shirt. First of all, the two colour boxing poster design is bad ass. Secondly, the off colour is a nice change of pace. Third, Mirror,Mirror is a classic and I’m pretty sure it set up the “evil versions of people have goatees” trope. Fourthly, this is very comfy shirt. Fifthly, Spock is dope.
The downside, as pictured, is that I appear to have a deffective t-shirt. The print is pretty skewed. Don’t worry though, I’ve contacted LC already and I assume they’ll sort me out. I’m rating the shirt as though it wasn’t deffective.

Bioworld Daredevil & Punisher Reversible Beanie
The new season of Daredevil is all about his rivalry with The Punisher. Now that rivalry has been captured in beanie form. You can modify the beanie to fit your mood. Whether you wake up in the morning being like “I would like to beat some people into the hospital” OR “I will do murders in the name of justice” you won’t have to choose a different hat to convey those feelings. Also, I live in Canada so having another toque around never hurt nobody.
My only qualm about this item is that it’s basically April. This would’ve made more sense in an October-November crate.

Exclusive Harley Quinn Comic Book
I like Harley. I like comics. I haven’t read this comic but I assume it will be worth a few laughs and some fun times. I’m not really sure how she, by herself, fits into the whole “VERSUS” theme but hey, comic book. I know Suicide Squad is just around the corner and all, but it still doesn’t quite fit. Everything else in the Crate is about showdowns between things that might, in other circumstances, be allies. Then, solo Harley comic.

March 2016 Loot Pin
I can’t say enough how much I am enjoying the new pins and this month is no exception. Opting for AVP to be your pin for the month over Batman and Superman is also pretty solid. As always, the pin unlocks something and this month I’m excited to not be American. American Looters unlock a free rental on VUDU of either the original Alien or Predator film, and we international Looters get a free AVP comic book from Comixololgy. I’ll take that comic please! Ho ho!

Batman vs Superman Mighty Wallet
I was really expacting Bats vs Supes to really dominate this crate given the massive marketing machine that has been pushing Dawn of Justice at full speed ahead. I was pretty happy that there’s just the one item, and I’m happy that it’s another Mighty Wallet. They gave us that Simpsons one over a year ago and it was cool, and now there’s a replacement. Will I use this paper wallet? Maybe on vacation or something. It also has a coupon!

Overall?
For a crate that I wasn’t super excited for, this one really delivered. There isn’t a single item that I would say was a dud, the brands represented were nice and diverse and it felt a little more “full” than a lot of recent crates. At the end of the day it turned out to be one of the better crates in recent memories.
Well done.
