It Was a Good Morning on The Bus: Sean Avery Arrested and Nolan’s Catwoman Revealed
Don’t you just love it when you wake up and get good news while catching up on your RSS feeds on the bus? By good news I of course mean hilarious news. I love Sean Avery, I love everything about him. He makes me think of what it would be like if all professional hockey players acted like professional wrestlers. Have you ever been to his website? You really should. It’s amazing. Filled with artsy black and white photos of himself (like the one you see here) and a whole subsection for fashion. What’s not to love about this guy? My whole inspiration for starting this site stems from a desire to have artsy black and white photos of myself on the internet. He took the more roundabout route of pro sports, but I think our end goals were the same.
Anyhow, he was arrested this morning at his no doubt swanky LA home. Cops showed up to tell him to quiet down, what did Sean Avery do? Shoved a cop and slammed the door in his face. Classic. Bail is set at $20,000. Which, because I love math, Sean will make in a little under 25 minutes of play time in the first game of the season (he makes $4,000,000 this year).
That wasn’t the only thing that made my bus ride a little more interesting this morning, there was also this. Straight from the official film website itself, a photo of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. I’ve had mixed feelings about her casting since the moment it was announced, but then again, I didn’t think Heath Ledger was a good fit for Joker. I’m willing to admit I was pretty wrong about that one. This picture doesn’t exactly fill me with hope for the next Selina Kyle. She’s riding the BatPod, ok, she stole it, she’s a fucking thief. Makes sense to me. It’s more the goggles with the glowing blue LEDs that rub me the wrong way. All that in mind though, it’s only one fucking photo. I’m still not sure how much of a badass Anne Hathaway can pull off, but I’m excited for Catwoman to be done right for once. I think she has such a bum rap because so many versions (comics, TV and movies) have missed the mark on her. I’m trying not to sound like an internet fanboy here and it’s getting harder and harder, so I’ll just stop. Here’s the photo just in case they take it down from the official site:
