It’s time for another episode of 9ES! Woo! After the flood of Fringe related Go Plug Yourselves this is surely a breath of fresh water. That doesn’t make any sense. Forget it.

The fun part is actually that this episode was recorded at the Go Plug Yourself studio! By which I of course mean the back of Grumpy’s, so join Jon, Scott and I and the charming backround noise of our favorite bar in town and we gets all kinds of geek up on this mess. Those people next to us seemed really nice, although, when we started recording, they just seemd to get louder. Which simultaneously adds to the mystique of recording in a bar and also makes you wish they were quiet. I’m really torn up about this since those people seemed to be into video games like League of Legends, reddit and generaly geekiness. They were basically our target audience, sitting right there. Maybe they’ll listen to this and be like “HEY! That’s us!” and then they’ll try to isolate out our dialogue to hear whatever they were talking about and make their own podcast out of it and become more internet famous than we are.

What’s in store for you this episode?

Well, Scott pops his Ps. Pop pop! It’s especially great when he says the word “pimp”. Take a shot whenever his “P”s pop. Trust me, it’ll make this the best 9ES of all time. Jon does it a little too. We also talk about:

  • How comics make money
  • The Shredder
  • The WWE Internet Championship at Wrestlemania (Zakk Ryder vs Dolph Ziggler), although, upon further investigation this seems to just be a fan’s dream
  • Two months after the fact I talk about WWE extreme rules and the smarky Chicago audience
  • UFC is basically dick punching
  • League of Legends championship coverage, and how we should make highlight reels of it
  • 3D fighters, seriously, all of them: Soul Caliber, Masters of the Teras Kasi, Ergheiz, Tekken, Bushido Blade, Virtua Fighter
  • Jon really gets a hardon for Bushido Blade, for real
  • The Streets of Rage remake made by that guy and how much fun indie games are
  • Twisted Metal on PS3 is amazing, Twisted Metal 4 on original PS was balls
  • We talk about the latest roller derby matchups at Arena St Louis, La Racaille vs Les Filles du Roi and the public debut of the Montreal Mens Derby team the Mount Royals against the New York Mens team The Dow Jones Average
  • Then we get into a weird argument about men smashing into each other. I’m pretty sure Jon was wrong on this one, since Newton’s Second law accounts for mass increasing force. More mass at the same velocity means bigger collisions. We need help from a physicist guys.
  • Then we talk about fan fiction that dare not be named
