That’s not necessarily true. I don’t think Dungeons & Dragons is rigged against the players the way Vegas might be, but it does seem like I’m much more likely to roll a 20 on a trivial Perception Check than I am on a death Saving Throw.
The dice are fickle.
Except, you know, they’re totally not.
The odds are always 1 in 20.
