The Montreal podcast that asks Deirdre and Elspeth from Ladyfest: What is oppressing you or your community, and what are you doing about it?
Hard hitting questions here folks. Just two of the many, many talented people that make up this year’s edition of Ladyfest join Walter and I this week to talk about… you know what? Try to guess. Try to guess what we talk about smart-stuff. Think long and hard about it.
If you guessed “an erotic novel about a woman getting it on with a bear you are a magic person.
Anyways, we talk about some stuff. We of course talk about the amazing shows that are coming up this weekend as part Ladyfest (check out the official website and their Facebook for those sweet, sweet deets) which you should really, really check out. Celebrate comedy while sticking it to the patriarchy! Or just celebrate comedy. Patriarchy destruction may be a by-product though.
Enjoy the show!

The Montreal podcast that asks Inés Anaya: What is the one food you would eat, even if it was bad?
Inés is just one of the many, many rising comedy talents in Montreal. She doesn’t like horror movies though. A fun drinking game would be to take a shot every time we ask her if she’s seen one horror movie or another. You’ll probably drink a few shots. Also on this episode: Walter may or may not have the power to influence reality. Inés is one of the people bringing you editions of “Stand-up Story Slam” so you should probably check that out over on Facebook. She would have given Walter a prize for his hair. She is also one of the very funny people at Hindwing Press. You should find her on Instagram.
All this and more kids, enjoy the show.

The Montreal Podcast that asks Tranna Wintour: Would you recognize your own scent?
Tranna has been on the show before but it has been far too long since we’ve had her as a guest. One of my favorite things about talking to Tranna is that where we may diverge on certain elements of our favorite slices of pop culture we can always find common ground in the 90s.
It’s only fitting that the next episode of Trannavision (coming up June 18th at The Diving Bell Social Club) is “She’s All That.”
Tranna and her often partner-in-crime Thomas Leblanc are also hosting the final few 13th Hours at the Montreal Fringe. Her show “Dear Alanis” will be at Zoofest/OFF JFL this year and you may already know that she’s got a podcast herself (also with Thomas) “Chosen Family” that is about to start its latest season on CBC Podcasts.
Enjoy the show!

Osheaga 2019 Podcast – Friday Part 2
The Osheaga Arts & Music Festival is absolutely one of the biggest events of the summer in a city that is defined by having a million big events in the summer. And this year, it’s going to be even bigger. The last two editions of Osheaga took place on a temporary site that made the best of re-purposed sections of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve but 2019 will mark the return of the festival to the original site. By original site I of course mean a newly renovated site that boasts a capacity somewhere over 65,000 people.
So to celebrate Osheaga being even bigger than ever we are making our 9to5.cc podcast specials even bigger than ever. How much bigger? Twice as bigger. That’s right, instead of one episode a day, Sarah and I will be breaking down our picks for each day across two episodes. When are we starting? Right now.
Our second episode is dedicated to some of our favorite picks with more of a electronic or hip-hop slant. Expect a new episode around the 15th and 30th of each month all summer long right up until the festival.
Enjoy the show!
Episode 1 (Friday Part 1) is here.

The Montreal podcast that asks Josh Shapiro and Gowthaman Kasy: Strat or Telly? And Why?
Josh Shapiro has done the impossible. He has brought stand up comedy to Montreal’s Dollar Cinema. Maybe it wasn’t impossible, but it certainly hasn’t been done before. Check out “No Jokes Barred Live At Dollar Cinema” TONIGHT, Thursday May 30th, where else? At Dollar Cinema. If you can’t amke the show tonight I would recommend just Liking that Facebook page that I just linked because Josh will be putting on shows for quite some time at this unique venue.

As you may know if you have already listened to the latest Pat on the Mat,Walter missed some recordings due to illness. We were planning a regular episode of Go Plug Yourself with Chris Venditto, but without Walter around to yell at us for talking about hockey we spent the whole hour talking about the Habs.
