Sarah sits down to talk about her weekend’s worth of shows that she checked out. This episode really should’ve been up earlier but for some reason we had corrupted audio files and needed to record this episode a second time! Recording episodes twice is getting to be our trademark! You’d think that after nearly 100 podcasts we’d have stuff like this ironed out, right? Wrong suckers!

Kyle now holds the record for all time show appearances I think. He has yet another GPYS feather in his cape, he is now a member of the “Lost Episode” club (there are only two members). You see, we foolishly thought that since this was Kyle’s 3rd appearance on the show he understood our setup. He did not. He muted himself the entire time and this podcast is actually the second “take” on what is usually an off-the-cuff podcast. We talk about cardboard cutouts, Sarah’s impersonation of Walter and velociraptors. Also we talk about his show but not that much.

For our second (if you notice we say that both this AND our last episode was our first Fringe episode, because we’re crazy) episode we sit down with writer, director and star Franco along with the titular Alex Cross (Kenny) to talk about their show Alex Cross and His Rise to Fame. This show promises to be one of the most lavish Fringe productions of the 2013 edition of the festival. 11 person cast, original music, a power point presentation! It’s all there for the taking. We talk rock and roll conspiracies and Disney stars in this very special episode.

Following all of last year’s Montreal Fringe fun we here at 9to5 (dot cc) are extremely happy to announce our full coverage of this year’s Montreal Fringe Festival! What are we gonna be doing? We’re going to be having interviews with the performers on our Go Fringe Yourself podcast as well as special podcast buzz from our Head Fringe Correspondent Sarah. Some of you may not be familiar (yet) with Sarah but her unique “no bullshit” attitude to the arts should be hilarious and thought provoking. Basically between now and next Friday you can expect almost daily (!!!) podcasts devoted to goings ons at the Fringe! We’ll also be launching a special 9to5 (dot cc) Fringe Landing Page in the next day or two. For now though, sit back and enjoy Walter and I ramble about some of the stuff we’re looking forward to at this year’s Montreal Edition of the Fringe Festival.

Btw, the production company (Playwright Hero) we are talking about who performed The Vindictive Vice-President last year does not have an entry in this year’s Fringe, however they DO have an upcoming show at Mainline in July. So check that out anyways!
Sure, I could’ve put all sorts of things up there in brackets after Al’s name. Or I could’ve even put nothing at all since once you see his face you know who we’re talking to. Or rather, once you see his beard you will know who we’re talking to. Al is basically living a life that is bursting at the seams with indie-art credibility and the best part? He still loves wrestling. Although he openly admits he’s more into indie wrestling since I’m pretty sure “indie” has to preface just about everything Al does. He’s basically running the show over at this year’s Fringe Festival, is a head honcho over at Bloody Underrated, has some sort of a fancy office at the Mainline Theater and is also manning the helm over at our arch enemy’s headquarters No More Radio. This interview with Al is also gonna be the kickoff for our series of Fringe episodes that you’ll start to see in the coming weeks! This is total excitement gang.

We close off the Fringe series of episodes with our guest Sam Mullins representing his one man story-telling show “Tinfoil Dinosaur”. We talk about the show and seeing the lighter side of the pitfalls and turmoils that so often plague people following their dream. Wow, that sounds depressing. I did say “lighter side” though and as you’ll see in this episode, Sam is a master of taking situations that might seem (and are) terrifying into something hilarious.

In case you’ve been ignoring the site, you may not have noticed that we just finished up our sixth (!) Montreal Fringe related podcast over on Go Plug Yourself.
However, despite my best intentions I have not seen NEARLY as many shows as I would like. Maybe you’re like me you are WAY behind in the amount of shows you intended on seeing and if so, I would like to recommend a totally feasible itnerary for a jam packed Fringe weekend, starting tonight (Friday). Yes, you won’t see everything, but you’ll have a chance to see some of the best shows if you just stick to my marathon style schedule:

This time the sound is less than amazing since there was an extremely loud fan that presumably was keeping people from just turning into puddles of sweat and keeping them alive.
